She was born & raised in a little northern New Mexico agricultural community just north of San Juan Indian Pueblo. For centuries the people of this multi-cultural community have been working with their hands for the necessities of life.
Folk arts & crafts flourished in this environment & were a natural part of her upbringing. After high school Lenora moved to Albuquerque & California to continue her education, to work & to practice her art. Upon retirement she returned to her New mexico roots to continue her artistic pursuits unencumbered by the vicissitudes of commercial big city life. Her work is now a labor of love.
She designs, builds & paints gourd figurines, does tin metal work, but clay work will always be closest to her heart. A bit of her spirit is in every piece she creates.
