Victoria Mauldin Works

Victoria Mauldin
Victoria Mauldin provides a “close encounter” with nature’s perfection and the wonder that surrounds us. Working primarily in acrylics, her photography frequently serves as the inspiration for her paintings, and she describes her work as story telling with a distinctly Southwest influence.
Contemporary Realism describes the entire body of work, which includes the traditional subject matter found in nature, the rich culture and traditions of the area, and the people, animals, and events that she photographs and encounters.
In the “Imaginative Realism” series, Mauldin’s paintings stretch the boundaries of reality and allows the viewer to use their imagination to view the world in a new way.   By using real world images in unexpected settings and portraying connections and interactions of characters, Mauldin presents a scenario that likely cannot happen, or ever be witnessed except in the painting and the “mind’s eye”.
Regardless of which genre, Traditional or Imaginative, Victoria’s paintings remain deeply rooted in the Southwest Culture, and depict the subjects she loves to paint. Always recognizable as her style, they often go beyond story telling by evoking inquiry and interpretation from the viewer.
Victoria is represented by The Corrales Bosque Gallery, Corrales, NM and Dragonfly Blue Gallery, Taos , NM and Weems Gallery in Albuquerque. Her work hangs is several public buildings in New Mexico and in private collections from California to Florida.
For over twenty years, she has actively participated in numerous Art Shows and Art Organizations across New Mexico, including Ruidoso, Santa Fe, Albuquerque, and Corrales.  She has received numerous awards and recognitions and most recently, her painting  “October Skies” received First Place at the Anderson Abrusso International  Balloon Museum Fine Art Competition held 10/ 2020-3/2021.
